KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan and globally experienced a significant surge on Monday, pushing the value of the precious metal to record-breaking levels.
As reported by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold soared by Rs7,700 per tola, reaching an unprecedented Rs480,962. This rise is attributed to increased global rates driven by continued investor interest.
Similarly, the cost of 10 grams of 24-karat gold saw a notable spike of Rs6,602, climbing to Rs412,347. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold registered an increase of Rs6,052, bringing its price to Rs377,998.
On the international front, gold prices jumped by $77 per ounce, settling at $4,586. This uptick underscores sustained global demand for precious metals amid economic uncertainties and volatile currency markets.
Silver prices followed a comparable trend, with the rate for one tola of 24-karat silver rising by Rs430 to hit Rs8,895. Likewise, the price for 10 grams of 24-karat silver increased by Rs369, reaching Rs7,626.
