Gold prices maintain downward trajectory

KARACHI: Gold prices, which previously soared to record levels, continue their steady descent in local markets.

The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association reported a Rs2,000 decline per tola for 24-karat gold, bringing the price to Rs431,862. Meanwhile, the cost of 10 grams decreased by Rs1,714, now standing at Rs370,252.

Globally, gold experienced a similar slump, dropping $20 per ounce to settle at $4,095.

This marks yet another dip, as just a day prior, the per tola price had slid by Rs3,500 highlighting a consistent cooling phase following an extended period of historic highs.
