KARACHI: Gold prices declined sharply in Pakistan’s local market on Thursday, with the rate of 24-karat gold dropping by Rs3,000 per tola to Rs438,636, according to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The price of 24-karat gold for 10 grams also decreased by Rs2,572, settling at Rs376,059.
Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold was priced at Rs344,733 after losing Rs2,358.
The decline in domestic prices came alongside a drop in international gold rates. The price of the precious metal fell $30 to $4,161 per ounce in the global market, the association said.
Silver prices also moved lower in the local market. The per-tola rate decreased by Rs50 to Rs6,528, while 10 grams of silver fell Rs43 to Rs5,596.
Internationally, silver also recorded a decline of $0.50, reaching $60.50 per ounce, according to the association.
