Government announces Rs4.07 Increase in Petrol, Rs4.04 in Diesel prices

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has declared a new adjustment in the prices of petroleum products, effective from October 1. As per a notification released by the Ministry of Finance, the cost of petrol has been raised by Rs4.07 per litre, and the price of high-speed diesel has increased by Rs4.04 per litre.

Under the revised rates, petrol will now be sold at Rs268.68 per litre, compared to the previous Rs264.61. Similarly, the price of high-speed diesel has been set at Rs276.81 per litre, up from Rs272.77.

These updated prices will be valid for the next 15 days, with the new rates beginning at midnight across fuel stations nationwide. The fluctuations are part of the government’s routine review process, which factors in international crude oil prices and currency exchange rates.

This follows the earlier announcement made on September 16, when the government maintained the existing petrol rate but increased the price of high-speed diesel for the upcoming two-week period.
