Government decides to form anti-riot force for protest and riots

Islamabad: Government has decided to form a world-class anti-riot force to deal with riots and disturbances in the country.

Under the chairmanship of the prime minister, a meeting of the task force formed to investigate the riots in Islamabad on November 24 was held in which ministers and senior officers participated.

In the meeting, the Prime Minister was told that weapons, cartridge shells and other evidences have been collected from the incident site, while all the evidences will be sent for forensics.

In the briefing, it was further informed that the process of identification of the rioters present on the spot is also being completed rapidly and after the identification, all the rioters will be produced in the courts.

Speaking in the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the progress on legal action against those who spread chaos in the country will be reviewed weekly.

He directed that the violators of the law during the protest and those who damaged the government property should be punished according to the law.

Shahbaz Sharif said that during the official visit of the President of Belarus to Pakistan, there was an attack on the federal capital, which caused great embarrassment.

The Prime Minister said that according to the contemporary requirements, a world-class anti-riot force will be formed in Pakistan, adding a forensic lab in Islamabad Safe City and bringing it up to international standards. Resources will be utilised.
