Islamabad: Govt declares public holiday on November 9 on account of Iqbal Day.
The federal government announced public holiday on Thursday 9th November (Saturday) on account of Iqbal day.
The day marks the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, with this year being his 147th birth anniversary.
Sir Muhammad Iqbal truly known as “Poet of East” , Iqbal born on 09 November 1877 in Sialkot.
His Allahabad address of 1930 was a turning point in pre-partition politics as it laid out a clear direction and separate identity for Muslims of the sub-continent to achieve Pakistan.
State Bank of Pakistan also announces closure of banks on November 9.
