ISLAMABAD: The government has declared today, May 16, 2025, as a Day of Gratitude Youm-e-Tashakur to celebrate a historic victory in the battle for truth (Ma’araka-e-Haq).
On this day, the people of Pakistan and the Armed Forces will be honored for their dedication and sacrifices. The day will begin with special prayers and Quran recitations in mosques across the country.
A 31-gun salute will be given in the federal capital, while a 21-gun salute will be carried out in the provincial capitals.Ceremonies for the changing of the guard will be held at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, along with flag-hoisting events in the federal and provincial capitals.
Floral wreaths will be laid at memorials of the martyrs across the country, and prayer ceremonies will be organized in their memory.Special meetings will be held with the families of martyrs of Operation Bunyān Mursas to pay tribute to their sacrifices.
The main event of the Day of Gratitude will take place tonight at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad. The Prime Minister will be the chief guest, and the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee along with the heads of the Armed Forces will also attend the ceremony.
