ISLAMABAD: Government has approved the implementation of health tax on cigarette confirmed by the PM focal person on anti-smoking Baber Atta.
The government has decided to fix Rs 10 tax on a 20 cigarette packet while it also has approved fixing tax on carbonated drinks.
Besides Rs 1 health will be fixed on each 250 ml carbonated drink while health tax will be announced formally in the budget.
As per the PM focal person, Baber Ata the earned revenue will expand on the poor through health cards.
