Govt Committed to Provide Relief to Masses: Firdous Awan

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the prime minister on Information and Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Tuesday that PTI government was fully committed to providing relief to masses.

Briefing media about the federal cabinet meeting, she said cabinet decided to bring harsh punishment law against child abuse.

Commenting over Pashtun Tahafiz Movement Firdosu Ashiq said some anti-Pakistan elements have taken over the party and are causing harm to national security.

Commenting on the recent PM Khan’s visit to China, she said the cabinet felicitated the premier on a successful visit and termed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between both the countries a milestone.

Briefing on the cabinet meeting, PM special assistant on information Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the federal government has decided to temporarily withhold the announcement of an increase in petroleum prices.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the federal cabinet meeting discussed the hike in petroleum prices in detail while most of the minister objected the possible rise in the petroleum goods, whereas, few ministers supported the increase in the petroleum prices citing that all the burden could not bear by the government.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has sent the matter to Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).

On the occasion federal minister for water resources, Faisal Vawda announced that PM Imran will perform the ground-breaking ceremony of Mohmand Dam on May 02.
