Islamabad: Government has directed the statistics department to hold a digital census during end of current year month December and month of coming year, January, 2023.
An implementation to work on to hold a digital census in the country not followed after which the department of statistics and National Data Base Registration Authority (NDRA) have been instructed review on a deadline.
It is said to the statistics department to join with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) because the ECP will work on constituencies of the national assembly and provincial assembly for the next general election.
The government also said to statistics department to take Sindh government into the confidence over a matter of census on the basis of real residence.
As per the statistics department if census work completed till January 2023 then work on constituency can be happened because an actual number of constituency will surface when the result of provincial census appears.
