Islamabad: Government on Monday file a petition in Supreme Court Of Pakistan (SC) for interpretation of article 63 (A).
The government in its pleas insisted the top court to interpret the article 63 (A) while the government has asked four question from the SC.
Firstly which interpretation of the article 63(A) will be acceptable? Can voting against the party policy not be stopped? the vote will not be acceptable against the party policy? and the person who found involved in this act will disqualified for life time?
Secondly will a vote of dissident countable or will it not be included in the count?
Thirdly, the member who will go against the party policy will not be honest and trustworthy? will this member will be disqualified for a lifetime?
Fourthly, what measures can be taken to stop or contain flor crossing and horse trading?
The period of disqualification has not been determined in the article 63 (A)?
The government had decided last week to approach Supreme Court Of Pakistan (SC) for interpretation of article 63 (A).
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said that a reference will be filed in the top court for the interpretation of article 63 (A) and the opinion of the court will be sought over changing loyalties and horse trading.
Elaborating further, the minister said that the court opinion will be sought that if members of a party involve in horse trading and change their loyalties for sake of money so what will be status of their votes.?
Adding further he said, Will these members, who changed their loyalties on economic interest, disqualify for life time or they will be allowed to compete election once again?
The SC had requested to hear the reference on daily basis and announce the verdict.
