Lahore: Section 144 has been imposed throughout Punjab from today to till July 28th.
The ban has been imposed on political gatherings, rallies, congregations and sit-ins.
The government has issued a notification in this regard.
The section 144 has also been imposed in Islamabad according to the district administration, any political gathering, rallies, congregation and sit-in will not be allowed in the capital.
In case of violation of the section 144 strict action will be taken.
The government has claimed that the ban has been imposed owing to risk of terrorism.
On the other hand, opposition parties have annouced their demonstrations against the government today.
The Jamat-e-Islami (JI) will stage a sit-in Islamabad at D-chowk against heavy electricity bills and burden of taxes in the budget 2024-2025.
Whereas the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allied parties will hold demonstrations across the country including Punjab and Islamabad.
