Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has apprised that the government has initiated urgent measures to ensure the safety and welfare of its citizens, including pilgrims and students currently in Iran and Iraq.
He shared the update via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that the evacuation of 450 Pakistani Zaireen (pilgrims) from Iran was successfully carried out as of yesterday.
He added that arrangements are underway to evacuate 154 Pakistani students currently residing in Iran in the first batch.
In light of the evolving regional situation, the Government of Pakistan is taking necessary measures for the welfare and safety of Pakistani nationals:

Pakistan Embassy in Iraq was in contact with Pakistani zaireen who were stranded due to the closure of airspace. Measures were underway to ensure their safe stay in Iraq and possible evacuation, he added.
