Islamabad: The federal government has proposed a significant salary increase for members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and Senators, with the raise potentially reaching up to 200%.
Sources suggest that the current salary of around Rs. 1.68 lakh per month for MNAs could be substantially raised.
The proposal, which also includes salary hikes for ministers, advisors, and senior officials like the Speaker of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Senate, is expected to be presented for approval.
This decision follows consultations with coalition and opposition parties, who reached a consensus amid growing concerns over inflation.
