ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has received Rs32.6 billion in second-installment Hajj payments under the government scheme, with 51,500 applicants having paid so far.
A ministry spokesperson said 26,000 pilgrims made payments through 1Link, while 2,126 used bank cards. A further 23,200 paid in cash using bank challans. Online payments made from home through the Hajj portal account for 55% of the total.
The payment deadline is October 20. Pilgrims must upload their medical fitness certificates to the portal before submitting the installment.
The ministry warned that applications will be cancelled if payment is not made by the deadline. Amounts already deposited will be refunded.
