Islamabad: Anti-narcotics court of Islamabad sentenced 3-member group to 41 years in prison and a fine of millions of rupees.
Last year, ANF recovered 71.5 kg of opium from Mubashir Hussain, Rehman Iqbal and Zahida.
According to Prosecutor Fahad Malik, opium was recovered from the possession of a 3-member group, the vehicle in which the group was smuggling drugs was also seized.
Prosecutor Fahad Malik says, laboratory report also came positive and the accused confessed to drug trafficking.
Anti-Narcotics Court Judge Raja Jawad Abbas sentenced the 3-member gang to a total of 41 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.2 million.
Court sentenced Mubashir Hussain to 20 years in prison and a fine of Rs 800,000 lakh, Rehman Iqbal sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.100,000 while the female accused Zahida Parveen was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.300,000.
