ISLAMABAD: Four people, including a father and son, were killed Tuesday when terrorists attacked a Peace Committee in the Hoed area of Bannu. The victims were ambushed with indiscriminate gunfire while returning from a jirga in Gulbadin Landai Dak.
Police launched a search operation after cordoning off the area, and the deceased were moved to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Attacks on peace committee members in KP have surged recently. In November 2025, seven were killed in a Peace Committee office attack in Bannu, and in October, a tribal committee member was killed in a clash with terrorists in Ahmadzai, Bannu district.
