KARACHI: A group of armed suspects carried out a robbery on a college bus in Karachi, once again underscoring the city’s ongoing street crime concerns.
According to police, three men riding a motorcycle reportedly approached and boarded a bus parked outside Jinnah Medical and Dental College. The vehicle was stationed near the parking area when the suspects entered and robbed female students before escaping.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the New Town Police Station, where a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the bus driver, Abdur Rehman.
As per the First Information Report (FIR), the attackers appeared to act with planning, raising suspicions that they may have been monitoring the bus route, which operates regularly in the area.
Police said the suspects specifically targeted three female students. One student was reportedly forced to hand over a gold chain after being checked, while two others were deprived of their mobile phones.
Following the incident, Sindh Inspector General of Police has taken notice and sought a detailed report from the Karachi Additional IG as investigations continue.
