Kartarpur: The holiest Sikh religious site, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, has been submerged in floodwaters after India released millions of cusecs of water into Pakistan’s River Ravi.
Images circulating on social media show the revered Kartarpur shrine surrounded by floodwaters, raising concerns among the Sikh community worldwide.
Floodwaters wreaked havoc at Sri Kartarpur Sahib Pakistan submerging the lower portion of the Gurdwara Sahib around 3 AM. Angitha Sahib, Mazar Sahib & Khooh Sahib have gone underwater, contact with sevadars has been lost, and rescue operations are currently underway.

Disaster management officials said relief efforts are underway, with emergency teams deployed to vulnerable districts.
However, they warned that rising water levels in major rivers could further aggravate the crisis in the coming days.
On the other hand, due to flooding in Kartarpur, around 200 to 300 people are stranded.
In coordination with local administration, Army troops are working to evacuate the stranded people.
