ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Tuesday directed Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to simplify the Asset Declaration Scheme.
Chairing a meeting to review the Scheme, finance advisor said tax scheme should be more attractive and persuasive.
The meeting deliberated upon various aspects of the scheme and emphasized the need to make it more simple and implementable.
Sources further reveal that the tax amnesty scheme will be presented for approval in the next meeting of the federal cabinet.
The meeting was attended by Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, Adviser on Institutional Reforms and Austerity, Dr Ishrat Hussain, Minister of State for Revenue, Muhammad Hammad Azhar, Chairman, FBR and experts of business, accounting and banking sectors.
