Lahore: Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman has been elected new chief or Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan in the party elections.
President election commission Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Rashid Naseem holding a presser in Lahore announced the victory of the new chief of the party.
Rashin Naseem apprised that voting ratio remained 82 percent while the party 45000 voting members which included six thousands women members cast their votes.
He said that Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman is elected as sixth ameer of the party.
Before him founding leader of the party Molana Syed Abdul Ala Maoududi, Mian Tufail Muhammad, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, Syed Munawar Hassan and Siraj Ul Haq have served as the party chief .
Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman will lead the party till 2029.
Earlier, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman is serving as the head of the party Karachi chief.
He said that the JI has been holding elections for his new chief for every five years since 1941.
Qaiser Sharif said that Central consultancy meeting elected members of the election commission.
