WEB DESK: Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire agreement and directed the military to remain on high alert in Gaza to ensure the defense of Israeli populations.
Earlier, a spokesman for Hamas’s military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Ubaida, announced the halt of hostages’ release. In his statement, Abu Ubaida highlighted that over the past three weeks, resistance groups had noted several violations of the ceasefire agreement by Israel, including delays in the return of displaced Palestinians to northern Gaza and bombing them. He also mentioned that aid, which was supposed to be delivered to several areas in Gaza, was not provided as agreed, while resistance groups fully adhered to the terms of the agreement.
Abu Ubaida stated that, for these reasons, the release of Israeli hostages, scheduled for Saturday, February 15, 2025, will be suspended until further notice. He emphasized that the release will not take place unless Israel complies with the terms of the agreement and compensates for the damages caused.
