WEB DESK: The Israeli army claims to have killed top Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, prompting DNA testing on the body of a Palestinian recovered from an attack on the Jabalia camp in Gaza.
Israeli authorities suspect that the body found at the school may belong to Sinwar, according to a statement from the Israeli military.
Hamas has denied using the Jabalia refugee school for any military purposes. On Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that ongoing operations in the Gaza Strip had resulted in the elimination of three Hamas members, while investigations are underway to determine if one of the deceased is indeed Sinwar.
Initial reports circulated with images purportedly showing Sinwar’s body; however, Israeli media later retracted these photos following a request for censorship. As of now, the identities of those killed in the operations have not been officially confirmed.
