Hamilton Test: New Zealand score 233 for seven wickets

HAMILTON: New Zealand reached 214 for seven wickets on the second day against Pakistan at the Seddon Park on Saturday.

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. Only 21 overs could be bowled during the entire day as intermittent rain during the post-lunch session forced an early close to the day.

The hosts were off to a disastrous start with opener Tom Latham (0) and skipper Kane Williamson (13) perishing cheaply after Pakistan sent them to bat. While Raval scored 55 runs and Grandhomme went to pavilion on 37. Watling and Southee were playing on 32 and 24 respectively.

The visitors, who were without their regular skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, employed four seamers on a track which offered good pace and movement.

Right-arm fast-medium bowler took three wickets and Imran Khan clinched two wickets in the first inning so far. While Muhammad Amir and Wahab Riaz took one wicket each.
