Web Desk: Fast bowler Haris Rauf of the national cricket team has voiced sharp criticism against the government following the tragic Gul Plaza incident, labeling it as a systemic failure in safeguarding human lives.
In a social media statement, Rauf emphasized how the disaster revealed the complete collapse of institutions tasked with public safety. He highlighted inadequate fire safety measures, sluggish rescue efforts, and a poorly executed response plan as the primary factors that exacerbated the catastrophe.

He expressed profound grief over the consequences of this negligence, which resulted in a significant loss of lives, shattered families, and countless dreams that will now remain unrealized. Rauf remarked on the overwhelming sense of helplessness in the aftermath, describing it as deeply distressing.
Demanding accountability, he posed challenging questions about how long such negligence would continue and how many more lives must be lost before meaningful change occurs. He stressed that this was far from an unfortunate accident but rather a stark warning necessitating immediate responsibility.
Acknowledging the public’s outrage, Rauf stated that the anger was valid and that the pain caused by this tragedy transcends words.
The fire at Gul Plaza was reportedly brought under control after nearly 36 hours. The incident claimed at least 14 lives, with 54 individuals still missing, leaving a community reeling from the devastation.
