Haroonabad: 100-Foot Canal Breach Floods Ready Cotton Crop

Haroonabad (July 31, 2017): A 100-foot breach in a canal near suburban village here has submerged ready cotton crop spread over hundreds of acres.

According, a 100-foot breach has appeared in Canal 6R in suburban Haroonabad village of 100 6R village. The flood waters are feared to inundate the said village.

The effected villagers allege that it took a long time for staff of the irrigation department to appear at the scene of the massive breach which is feared to cause immense losses to the growers by damaging the ready to be picked cotton crop.

The Irrigation authorities have started works to fill the breach.
