HBL PSL 4: Hasan’s Prolific Bowling Hands Zalmi Victory Against Kings

SHARJAH: Karachi Kings, only managing to score 109/9 in their second innings, lost to Peshawar Zalmi by 44 runs in this match of the fourth edition of HBL PSL where Hasan Ali’s top bowling performance was the highlight of the day.

Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Peshawar Zalmi in their 2019 Pakistan Super League (PSL) fixture at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Peshawar Zalmi’s 153 runs in the first innings proved to be more than enough for fragile batting line-up of Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings.

Zalmi were under heavy pressure at 48 for 4 after being sent in, but Imam-Ul-Haq withstood a procession of wickets to top-score with 56 off 43. Moreover, Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy’s crucial cameo of 24 runs in 10 balls to drag the target past the 150-run mark.

Kings were 53 for 4 needing 101 off the last 10 overs. When Sikandar Raza was bowled by Umaid Asif. Zalmi’s Hasan Ali ended his quota of four over with stunning figures of 4/15 against Kings.

After claiming their second win in their third match of the tournament, Zalmi have secured the second spot in the points table os HBL PSL 2019.

Darren Sammy outperformed and outstrategized his opposite number Imad Wasim in key moments on Thursday night in Sharjah to lead Peshawar Zalmi to a comfortable 44-run win over Karachi Kings.

With 4 out of 11 players getting out on duck, and that too on the very first ball, Kings need to come up with a serious plan in order to emerge as prominent contenders for the title race.
