Heatwave continues across most parts of the Country, temperature expected to remain elevated

WEB DESK: The Meteorological Department has issued warnings that a persistent heatwave is affecting most regions across the country today.

Temperatures in the northern areas are forecasted to stay 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal, contributing to an intense and prolonged spell of hot weather.

In Islamabad and its surrounding areas, residents can expect extremely hot and dry conditions throughout the day. Similarly, most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are experiencing high temperatures with dry weather prevailing.

Punjab remains under a severe heatwave, with the majority of districts enduring scorching and arid conditions. However, some relief may be found in specific areas such as Murree, Galyat, Jhelum, Gujrat, Sialkot, and Narowal, where light showers are possible in localized spots.

The southern provinces are also facing intense heat. Most districts of Sindh are expected to encounter extremely hot and dry weather, while Balochistan’s districts are forecasted to remain hot and arid. In the northern regions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are also experiencing hot and dry conditions, with no significant rainfall anticipated.

Authorities have advised residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe amid the ongoing heatwave, including staying hydrated, avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours, and safeguarding vulnerable populations.
