Uptick in traffic fines approved, to be imposed from Nov 1 in Karachi

Karachi: An uptick has been approved in fines of traffic challans in Karachi while the DIG traffic police announced that the raise will be implemented from November 1.

Fine on one way violation

Detailing the fines, he apprised that a fine of Rs 2000 will be imposed on a violation of the one way traffic by motor bike rider while this fine will be charged Rs 3000 for cars.

Penalty on not using helmet

A fine of Rs 500 will be imposed for those riders who will not wear a helmet, the DIG traffic added.

Fine on head lights absence

He informed that on a violation of not using the head lights will be fined Rs 600 for motor bikes and Rs 800 for vehicles.

Fine over breaking signals

Over breaking the signals, a Rs 500 fine will be imposed on both vehicles and motor bike riders.

Fine over using colorful lights in vehicles

On using colorful lights, the violator will be charged a fine of Rs 1200, he informed.

Penalty on driving bike or car without license

Running the motor bike or car without a license will be fined Rs 1000 and Rs 1500 respectively.

Fine on under age drivers

An under age motor bike rider or car driver will be fined Rs 1500 and and Rs 2000 respectively.

Fine on continuous violation of traffic rules

He furthered that a fine of Rs 2500 will be imposed on continuous violations of traffic rules by motor bike riders while on the same violation a car driver will be charged Rs 3000 fine.
