LAHORE: Meteorological Department has apprised that heavy rain with thunderstorm in various part of the country.
Powerful storm led to intense downpours and hail in several key areas, including Mall Road, Abbott Road, Canal Road, Kalma Chowk, Gulberg, and Barkat Market. The weather remained unstable with intermittent showers throughout the day.
In Kharian and surrounding areas, strong winds and overcast skies brought a welcome drop in temperature, offering much-needed relief from the recent heatwave. The cooler, pleasant conditions were widely appreciated by residents.
Murree also experienced heavy rainfall and a severe hailstorm, resulting in a sharp decline in temperature. Cold winds added to the chill, and several areas reported power outages due to the intensity of the storm.
According to the Meteorological Department, the current spell of rain is expected to persist for the next 24 hours.
