MULTAN: Heavy rainfall continues in Multan city and its surrounding areas. Government imposed rain emergency.
Due to the downpour, areas like Tipu Sultan Colony, Hassan Parwana, Rashidabad, and low-lying regions have been submerged, while several areas in the inner city also have water accumulated due to the rain.
According to a WASA spokesperson, 107mm of rain has been recorded in Kadi Jamanda, 83mm at Chungi Number 9, 53mm in Samejaabad, 41mm in Suraj Meani, and 35mm on the old Shujaabad Road.
The Managing Director of WASA stated that a rain emergency has been imposed across the city, and according to the Meteorological Department, the heavy rain spell may continue for another 3 hours.
On the other hand, a major flood wave is expected in the Chenab River over the next 24 hours, prompting evacuations in multiple.
