KARACHI: Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has begun in several parts of Karachi.
Areas including North Nazimabad, North Karachi, Sargodha, Federal B Area, Saddar, and Clifton are experiencing heavy rainfall with gusty winds. Similarly, the Cantonment, Railway Colony, Delhi Colony, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Jamal, and Garden areas are also witnessing intense winds and rain.
The storm is accompanied by thunder and lightning, and the rain has caused power outages in various parts of the city.
According to the Meteorological Department, wind speeds reached up to 90 km/h on Shahrah-e-Faisal, while in Mauripur, wind speeds recorded were as high as 97 km/h.
It is worth noting that the Meteorological Department had predicted rainfall across Karachi and the entire Sindh province today.
The department stated that western winds are affecting most parts of the country. There is a forecast of rain in Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta, and Jamshoro today, with the possibility of hailstorms in some areas of Karachi.
