KARACHI: Heavy rainfall has started in various parts of Karachi.
The outskirts of Karachi, including Kothur, Gadap, and surrounding areas, are experiencing rain.
Rain is ongoing in Gulshan-e-Hadeed with thunder and lightning.Similarly, heavy rain is falling in Malir, Sufara, Model Colony, and Saadi Town among other areas.Rain with thunder and lightning is also occurring in Defence, Scheme 33, and North Nazimabad.
Besides Shahrah-e-Faisal, rain with thunder and lightning is also happening on Tariq Road. It is important to note that a monsoon system is expected to bring rainfall from Friday to Sunday in Karachi.
According to meteorologist Anjum Nazir, there is a risk of urban flooding due to intense rainfall on Saturday. Moreover, intermittent rain is likely to continue in the city on Sunday as well.He further explained that a low-pressure area is present in Gujarat, India, which is expected to cause rainfall in Sindh in the coming days. The rainfall may lead to urban flooding in most cities of Sindh.
