LONDON: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Muhammad Faisal, asserted that Pakistan will not accept any form of hostility or aggression from its neighboring nations, reaffirming the country’s dedication to regional peace and stability.
During a modest yet solemn Pakistan Day observance at Pakistan House in London, he raised the national flag in the presence of officials from the High Commission, British officials, members of the Pakistani community, and media representatives. The ceremony also included readings of messages from President, Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan.
In his keynote speech, Dr. Faisal paid homage to the founding leaders of Pakistan, highlighting their role in uniting Muslims of the subcontinent to create an independent homeland rooted in shared traditions and values. He underscored that while Pakistan remains committed to peace and regional stability, it stands ready to respond decisively to any external threats or provocations.
The High Commissioner emphasized Pakistan’s resilience and courage in facing numerous challenges, noting that the nation’s spirit remains unbroken. He also highlighted that the High Commission, under directives from Islamabad, is implementing austerity measures to ensure efficient functioning without compromising its operational effectiveness.
Expressing pride in the achievements of the Pakistani diaspora in the UK, Dr. Faisal lauded their contributions across diverse fields as a source of national pride.
He concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reiterating the country’s diplomatic and moral backing for their right to self-determination as recognized by the United Nations.
