Lahore/Gujranwala: Punjab is in a dangerous grip of smog as today a public holiday has been declared Lahore and Gujranwala division.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi appealed to the people of Punjab not to leaver their houses unneccessory during in the severe conver of smog in the province.
Interim Information Minister Amir Mir has said that shutting down activities for a three days will bring down intensity of the smog all across the province.
He expressed hope that the business community will help the government on closing of business activities for three days.
Yesterday, a notification has been issued regarding various businesses given exemption from on today’s holiday.
As per the notification issued by the primary and secondary health care call centers, international IT centers, medical stores, pharmacies, vaccination centers, petrol pumps, conventional bread shops (tandoor), bakeries, general stores, chicken, meats shops are given exemption on holiday.
Educational institutes, government and private offices will remain close in Lahore division and other four districts tomorrow.
All the institutions given exemption by the primary and secondary health care from holiday November 10 will remain open.
