WEB DESK: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the Team of the Tournament for the Champions Trophy, out of the 8 teams that participated in the tournament, only players from 3 teams have been included in the Team of the Tournament.
The 12-member Team of the Tournament includes 6 players from India, 4 from New Zealand, and 2 from Afghanistan.
None of the players from the two semi-finalist teams, South Africa and Australia, made it to the team, and no player from the host country, Pakistan, has been included in the Team of the Tournament.
India’s Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, and Varun Chakravarthy are part of the Team of the Tournament.
New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, and Matt Henry are also included in the ICC Team of the Tournament.
Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai have also succeeded in securing a place in the Team of the Tournament, while India’s Axar Patel has been selected as the 12th player of the team.
