DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed a fine on Pakistani batsman Fakhar Zaman for a breach of the Code of Conduct.
During the recent tri-series final against Sri Lanka, ICC fined Fakhar Zaman 10% of his match fee for violating the Code of Conduct. According to ICC, Fakhar Zaman violated Article 2.8, which pertains to displaying strong reactions or protests against the decisions of umpires during an international match.The ICC also stated that Fakhar Zaman was awarded one demerit point.
It is worth noting that during the final of the tri-series, Fakhar Zaman was involved in a lengthy discussion with umpires after being dismissed in the 19th over of Pakistan’s innings.
Pakistan won the final by 6 wickets, claiming victory in the tri-series against Sri Lanka.
