Web Desk: A person who was apple of the eye of the nation, Junaid Jamshed, left whole of the country in tears this day back in 2016, along with his wife and 45 others in a horrible crash of Pakistan International Airlines flight near Havelian.
He was in Chitral for a Tablighi Jamaat mission and was returning to Islamabad. Jamshed was aged 52 at the time of his death.
Today is the sixth death anniversary of iconic Junaid Jamshed.
Born on September 3, 1964. His father Jamshed Akber Khan was a retired Group Captain in Pakistan Air Force.
Jamshed proceeded to join the PAF after graduating from local boarding high school in Lahore, initially focusing to become a professional F-16 fighter pilot. However, due to weak eye-sight, his nomination papers were rejected by the PAF selection board.
Jamshed gained a Bachelor of Science, graduating in Mechanical Engineering in 1990. And join PAF as a civilian contractor and moved on to a short-lived career in aeronautical engineering.
Junaid Jamshed rose to fame in the 1980s as the vocalist of Pakistan’s one of the most celebrated music band “Vital Signs”.
In 1983, Jamshed start performing rock music gig. The release of ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ in 1987 took him to the eternal heights of fame.
The song was released on the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day. His music album ‘Vital Signs’ became immensely popular.
The band members of the Vital Sings in the late 90s went their separate ways and Jamshed launched his solo career.
According to a poll conducted by BBC World Service in 2003, Junaid Jamshed’s “Dil Dil Pakistan” song was ranked third among top ten songs of the world.
After meeting well-known preacher and scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel, at the peak of his booming music career, he announced in 2004 to quit the music industry and focus on religion and began preaching on television.

After that, he released many beautiful naats which will be remembered by all his fans forever.
In 2007, the government of Pakistan awarded him Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. He also owned a popular clothing brand that has several outlets throughout Pakistan and abroad.
