ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police apprehended the main suspect in a recent bank robbery on Monday, recovering stolen cash, firearms, ammunition, and the motorcycle used in the crime.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) ICT Syed Ali Raza shared these details during a press conference at the Rescue 15 office.
DIG Raza stating that the accused, identified as Sulaiman, also known as Salo Bhai, was apprehended after an intensive five-day investigation led by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Crime Investigation Agency (CIA).
DIG said the operation involved utilizing human resources, advanced Safe City surveillance cameras, digital tracking, and data analysis, enabling police teams to successfully track down and arrest Sulaiman.
Sulaiman has a prior criminal record, with similar charges previously filed against him in Sargodha, DIG Raza added.
The DIG commended the dedication and thorough efforts of the police teams in solving the case.
He emphasized ICT Police’s commitment to the security of every citizen, home, and workplace in the capital, noting a significant decrease in the city’s crime rate.
