Peshawar: President Dr Arif Alvi has said that If the PTI chairman Imran Khan statement regarding army generals is ambiguous then he himself should clarify his statement.
Talking to senior journalists informally at the governor house, Peshawar, President Dr Arif Alvi said that he is trying to remove misunderstandings among the stake holders adding that the talk of an extension in the Army Chief tenure will be premature.
The President said that Pakistan army is a patriotic institution, making it disputed will be incision to Pakistan.
Dr Arif Alvi said that the army has given the best services during the catastrophe of floods. He said that doubts can’t be raised at any general of the Pakistan Army including the Chief of Army Staff (COAS).
He said that the country’s institutions and political parties are patriotic and joining together to steer out of the country from problems is better solution.
The President further said that he is working on back door reconciliation policy to steer out the country from problems.
He apprised that he used to talk with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif adding that he has sent two letters to the government.
The President said that the parties which are demanding the early elections are following policy of delay.
Dr Arif Alvi said that the situation will get better with the agreement with the IMF adding that inflation is high and we have to control it .
He said that the floods have brought devastation in the whole country.
The President also said that the power of social media can’t be denied but use of slang language is regrettable.
