According to a spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation.
The spokesperson stated that Marco Rubio emphasized the urgent need to reduce tensions in the region and expressed support for direct talks between Pakistan and India.He also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to promote better bilateral relations.
It is worth noting that earlier, the U.S. Secretary of State had also contacted the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.
