Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday acquitted Nawaz Sharif in avenfield reference.
The divisional bench of the IHC headed by Chief Justice Amir Farooq along with Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzeb heard Nawaz Sharif appeal against his punishment in the avenfield reference.
The IHC approving Nawaz Sharif appeal against the accountability court verdict in the avenfield reference annulled the judgement of the accountability court.
The court also order acquittal of Nawaz Sharif in the case.
It is pertinent to mention here that The NAB also withdrew an appeal against Nawaz Sharif acquittal in the flagship reference and resultantly the court disposed off the appeal.
It is pertinent to mention here that an accountability court had awarded 10 years imprisonment to Nawaz Sharif in the avenfield reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau back in July 6 2018.
