ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday asked input from the ministry of religious affairs over the sale of liquor on the name of religion.
The IHC honorable judge Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani heard the petition filed by Pakistan United Christian Movement and Center for Rule of Law.
The petitioner counsel Majid Bhatti said that liquor is prohibited in Christianity and insisted the court that liquor sale be banned on the basis of religion.
A list of license holders of liquor on name of the Christianity was also presented in the court while the Christians scholars would also assist the court on the issue.
The IHC has asked the ministry of religious affairs respond or reply on the matter in the next hearing.
