Chairman CDA Contempt of court: IHC disposes of case as citizens get permission to transfer of properties

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC)on Thursday disposed of the contempt of the court case against the Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) over issuance of transfer letters of properties of the petitioners.

The divisional bench of the IHC comprising Justice Gul Hassan Aurangzaib and Justice Baber Sattar heard the case.

Chairman CDA capt (retd) Anwar Ul Haq appeared before the IHC in the contempt of the court case.

The Chairman CDA apprised the court that he has implemented the court orders and the citizens have been granted permission to transfer their properties.

Justice Baber Sattar questioned that if the court issues any order why doesn’t the CDA follow the orders? To which, the Chairman CDA said “We were processing applications of the applicants.

Justice Baber Sattar responded that you kept the applications for one month and later the litigation was lingering in the court and then the contempt of the court filed and your process is continued?

Justice Baber Sattar said that if the court issues any order then follow it immediatley.

The IHC once again rejected the Chairman CDA appeal to stop transfers of properties of the citizens.

The Chairman CDA had stopped the citizens transfer of properties on ground of the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) inquiry.
