IHC Expresses Satisfaction Over Imran Conduct In Contempt Of Court Case As Court Disposes Of Case

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) today disposed of show-cause notice served to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan as the court expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the former premier.

The IHC five-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah comprising Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib, Justice Baber Sattar and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jehangiri heard the case.

Chairman Imran Khan appeared before the court while he has already submitted his affidavit in the case.

Chief Justice Athar Minallah expressed satisfaction over the PTI chief Imran Khan conduct in the contempt of the court case.

The CJ said that apparently this was (contempt of court) however on the attitude of Imran Khan we are quashing the proceedings against Imran Khan.

Assistant Attorney General raised eyebrows over Imran Khan’s affidavit while the court questioned that do you support Nehal Hashmi and Daniyal Chaudhry case?

To which assistant attorney general said that we wanted to submit some documents to the court. While the IHC ordered the assistant attorney general to submit the written response till tomorrow.

Honourable Judge Athar Minallah said that the district court is the most vital adding that we are satisfied with Imran Khan apology.

The court assistant said that Imran Khan not apologised unconditionally. Over which the court ordered to submit written objections.

The CJ IHC asked former premier that we have read your affidavit and do you like to say something more.

After the hearing the case, the court decided to quash the contempt of court proceedings against Imran Khan and disposed of the show-cause notice served to him over his inappropriate remarks to district magistrate Zaiba Chaudhy in August 20 rally in Islamabad.

It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan had said to take action against the district magistrate Zaiba Chaudhry over giving remand to police for his chief of staff Shahbaz Gill.

The former premier has expressed eagerness to apologies with the woman District Majistrate Zaiba Chauhdhry in the last hearing.
