IHC issues notice to NAB in Nawaz Sharif protective bails in Al-Azizya, Avon-field references

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in the protective bails petitions for Nawaz Sharif in Al-Azizya and Avon-field reference and called it to respond tomorrow.

A divisional bench of the IHC headed by Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Judge Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib heard the protective bail petitions of the PML-N lifetime supremo Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizya and Avon-field reference.

Nawaz Sharif counsel Amjad Pervez contended that the punishment to his client had been pronounced in his absence.

He said that when someone wanted to surrender himself before the court then the court provides him an opportunity. He also gave the reference of Asma Alamgir case.

He added that the court has also given recently the protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan.

Nawaz’s counsel said that his client never used his bail wrongly.

The NAB prosecutor apprised that he is the prosecutor in the case adding that he has listened his arguments if any accused wanted to come then we don’t have any objection over it.

On the NAB prosecutor statement, Judge Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzaib remarked “You have no objection over granting him a protective bail.” May you said next day that verdict be annulled. You should ask the NAB chairman regarding this so we decide the appeal today.”

The NAB prosecutor said that when the appeal will be fixed then he will give arguments after taking directions.

The IHC issuing notice to the NAB called reply from tomorrow.

Earlier, Attaullah Tarrar as a special attorney from behalf of Nawaz Sharif filed the bail petitions. In which the court is insisted that a protective bail be given for surrendering before the court and he is barred from an arrest before reaching the court.

Nawaz Sharif had insisted hearing of his protective bail today.The next hearing of the case will be held tomorrow (Thursday).

Toshakhana case

On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif has also filed a protective bail petition in the toshakhana case insisting the court that his warrants be suspended as he wanted to surrender before the court.

It is insisted in the bail petition that His warrants be suspended till October 24 while he be given an opportunity to use available facility appearing before the court.
