Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday rejected an intra court appeal of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Yousuf Raza Gillani to declare Chairman Senate election null and void.
A divisional bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jehangeri of the IHC announced reserved verdict of the Yosuf Raza Gillani intra court appeal.
The court retaining the verdict of the single bench, rejected Yousuf Raza Gillani intra court appeal against victory of Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani.
Yosuf Raza Gillani had adopted point of view that a presiding officer rejected eight votes by faulty manner.
The Senate election was conducted by a presiding officer nominated by President of Pakistan. He went on to say that a presiding officer decision are not stated internal process of the house.
Former premier said that the court can review the decision of the presiding officer.
Earlier, the IHC single bench comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah had declared the petition of Yousuf Raza Gillani as unmaintainable. After which Yosuf Raza Gillani had filled the intra court appeal.
