Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has suspended the session court verdict of non bailable arrest warrants of Imran Khan in the toshakhana case.
The IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq ordered the PTI chief to appear before the session court on March 13.
The IHC pronounced reserved verdict in the case.
Earlier, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court (IHC) Amir Farooq had reserved the verdict on Imran Khan’s petition against judgment of session court in the toshakhana case.
The session court had issued non-billable arrest warrants of Imran Khan in the toshakhana case.
Chief Justice IHC Amir Farooq said to counsels of Imran Khan not to make system a joke adding that he has to appear before the court for indictment.
The IHC had given half hour time to the counsel of Imran Khan to consult him when he will able to appear before the court.
The Imran counsels apprised the court he can appear before the court after four weeks.
To which, the CJ IHC said that will you give affadavit? do you want to appear before the court? adding that you still don’t want to appear before the court.
The CJ said that be fair, don’t make the system a joke adding that this warrant (issued to Imran Khan) is not to send anyone to jail.
The court asked that what will happen if warrant canceled?
He said that Imran Khan will appear in the IHC on March 9 then he should appear in the session court on the same date.
Honourable judge said that he will not pass any verdict which is out of the normal practice.
Advocate general said that they talked about security of his client but he is going to hold rally tomorrow. The IHC once again gave half hour time to Imran Counsel to consult with his client.
Chief Justice IHC hearing the case said “we have to care about lives of common man not me adding that people live equal to my life”.
He said ” Life is a deposit of God and one’s life will be gone the day he/she has been fixed by the God”
Justice Amir Farooq said that they have prayed suitable time and he will decide it.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had approached Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the toshakhana verdict.
In his appeal, the PTI chief prayed the court to declare toshakhana non-bailable arrest warrants null and void.
The IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the case.
