MOUNT MAUNGANUI: Pakistan’s opening batsman, Imam-ul-Haq, sustained an injury during the third and final ODI against New Zealand while executing a run between the wickets.
Imam-ul-Haq was injured after being hit on the face by the ball during the third ODI match against New Zealand. While batting in pursuit of the target, he was struck on the jaw by a throw from a fielder that hit his helmet’s grill as he was running.
As a result, Imam-ul-Haq had to retire hurt and left the field. Subsequently, the team management announced that he was unable to pass the concussion test, which is why Usman Khan would take his place in batting.
Medical assistance was also provided to Imam-ul-Haq at the emergency center in the ground.
