Islamabad: Caretaker Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar has said that if the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will allow then relief on electricity bill will be passed on to people.
For taking permission, Dr Shamshad Akhtar on Wednesday contacted to the IMF official and apprised him about the current situation of the people of the country on the exorbitant electricity bills.
The IMF responded to the government to present written plan ove the relief and the plan will be sent to Washington.
It is likely that Pakistan will send the plan till this evening.
It is pertinent to mention that IMF had provided 3 billion dollar loan for Pakistan after 7th review agreement with the Pakistan in month of July this year.
Previous government had taken lot of efforts for getting the loan, the international lender took seven to 8 months to approve the loan.
